A stern warning from agencies that provide certification and monitoring of claims for greenhouse reduction to Brisbane's Favourite Politician. "Do NOT claim that big tree you put up each year as part of your carbon reduction sequestering claims."
Favourite Politician has been warned that more than 300 bureaucrats will be flown in from world agencies, provided with vehicles and unhindered access to Lone Pine, Southbank Ferris Wheel, Story Bridge viewing platforms and Queen St Mall during December to seriously monitor Christmas tree based carbon reduction certification claims.
Last years claims for collection of 750 tonnes of fugitive methane generated by council activities will be under close scrutiny. The cost of providing recycled plastic bags to each Council officer to wave through the air to collect methane will be investigated amidst allegations of leakage, additionality, permanence and ownership conflict.
