Queensland Government Light Bulb Give Away

Interesting to see such negative reaction from newsagents to Labor's bulb bribe, giving thousands of light bulbs away to those who could access the offer.

Newsagents cop the abuse when these give away stunts go wrong and people waste time trying to access the offer. Some agents seem angry that a free kick was given to Australia Post to generate walk through traffic. As soon as the bloke who left the Labor Party joined the greens a clever PR person dreamed up the Government buying thousands of globes from their Chinese contact, having the Premier have a message on the box. Giving trinkets to the natives they pay for themselves is a strategy that works well for Governments.

Great news that Nic Xenophon's common sense helped sink the silly fuel watch scheme. I suspect Labor is quietly celebrating that one of their hair-brained government interference schemes copped what it deserved. Did anyone ever visit the grocery price watch web site? Another stunt that cost taxpayers dearly.
