Deposits for plastic bags, cigarette packs part of the solution

Some plastic bag schemes floated by the Government are dopey but I would support including plastic bags, cigarette boxes and butts in a container deposit scheme. Paying kids 10 cents (more for cigarette paraphernalia). A brilliant storm water device installed by the Council at Weedon St catches plastic bags discarded into untidy areas outside the park or from the busy roads nearby.
Using the bags discarded in the local park to collect cobblers pegs, or broken glass and rubbish is a good way to deal with them and get them away from the creek catchments.
