My workplace has an amazing view over Brisbane from many different levels. In preparation for the opening of a new building we had to finish hanging the clay wind mobiles in an outdoor classroom with a stunning back drop.
Pheww, nearly there, no thanks to me ... I am just an observer ... and attempt organising kids to help ... clay letters were being fixed with special glue, explaining the sticky tape while the glue set ... an amazing area with a story to tell ... A few kids in Brisbane who know what "Fly Be Free" really means.
It involves dispersing handfulls of seed such as nastursium, marigold, pumpkin, lomandra ... etc into areas that are hard to plant and need rehabilitation.
When the PM visited he was interested in the environmental initiatives the kids showed him during a tour. He made a clay wind mobile, planted a Wollemi Pine, and dispersed seeds on a barren hillside, full of clay and stones.
He may be surprised to see "the Prime Ministerial Pumpkin Patch" the slow but steady growth of marigolds, pumpkin, a sunflower and various other goodies despite the tough conditions.
If all the lomandra, blue flax, nastursium and lilly pilly that has been dispersed suddenly sprouted we would need the SES to help us fight our way through the bush tracks in the school grounds.
