The north-west Queensland town of Cloncurry stopped for Zanda McDonald's funeral today, Thursday 11 April. Zander's family requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the St Joseph's School Cloncurry Building Fund.

Queensland cattle industry leader Zander McDonald has died.
The Cloncurry grazier was the director of McDonald Holdings, one of Australia's largest beef cattle operations.
Zander McDonald reportedly fell from a windmill at his family's
Cloncurry property just over two weeks ago, suffering severe injuries.
He died this morning at Townsville Hospital and is survived by his wife Julie and four daughters.
Cloncurry mayor Andrew Daniels says the community is devastated by the news.
"The legacy that Zander and the rest of his family, leave behind in
Cloncurry, is that they were major advocators for the NW, they are just
great people and it is a very sad day."
He says their achievments are massive and they are not people who seek the limelight.
Mr Daniels says Zander McDonald played an enormous role in the cattle industry in the NW and right across Australia.
" They are very innovative in what they have done, Zander's certainly
had a big role in the live export trade, feedlotting and now he's
involved in the marketing of his own beef through a chain of
superbutchers, they must just be all devastated ."

My prayers and best wishes go to Zander's family, his parents, Christine and Don as they deal with such a tragedy.
