Pine Mountain Road Carina Re-Quarry progress

While concerned about the number of truck movements on already busy roads I acknowledge the work BMI group is doing to reduce its impact on the local community.
I appreciate BMI Group's commitment to work with Bulimba Creek Catchment group, B4C, to rehabilitate land and listen to their advice.
Brisbane City Council has not released findings of a compliance investigation into BMI Group's Pine Mountain Road rehabilitation project.
BCC has not scheduled a cleanup of overgrown vegetation or deal with the poor condition of the shoulders of Pine Mountain Road to improve safety.
Clearing safety guard rails is not a council priority.
Poisoning is about as good as it will get but that is a poor solution.
BMI group has provided an update about the massive challenge to empty, fill and rehabilitate the Lake Boral by offering the site for dumping fill.
BMI is not using water from the lake to wash trucks as Lake Boral water requires treatment prior to use.
Potable water is used for the wheel wash.
Water is replaced on a regular basis, sediment dried and used as fill.
BMI may look at an open day for interested local residents when site works are completed but would need enough information to make such a day viable.
Heavy mulching of the site has been considered and site green waste has been saved for this purpose.
Huge amounts of Council green waste collected after recent storms is contracted for processing with another party and unavailable to be used on the site.
(Instead of using hundreds of identified washouts around the district where the mulch could be used it was all sent to Chandler and now they are looking for sites to send it to.)
Damaged land visible from Creek Road (benched high walls) is unsafe to access and will not be attempted until appropriate access is secured, more than 12 months away.

Impact on local roads due to thousands of extra heavy truck and trailer movements is similar to the impact of the original quarry.
Maintenance is a matter for DTMR or Brisbane City Council.
Pine Mountain Rd Pty is a rate payer and will contribute its required contribution to Council. Council will not kerb and channel the BMI side of Pine Mountain Road.
Within the first 6 months of ownership of the site BMI will have engaged B4C to undertake vegetative rehabilitation works on areas on and around our site.
They will take the lead from B4C on which areas will most benefit from their input.
This will become an ongoing arrangement with B4C should they wish to continue to undertake these works for BMI.
Uupgraded site drainage will prevent water runoff exiting the site and crossing the road  Bitumen has been applied to internal roads to reduce mud tracking out onto the road.
A condition of entry excludes trucks using Scrub Rd to reach Pine Mountain Rd.
Pine Mountain Road between Scrub Road and Creek Road was poorly planned at the time land was sold for housing and remains poorly maintained by the council so a decision to keep trucks away from the golf course and dangerous road shoulders is a good idea.
