Many of us with the cost of a car invested in their mouths would agree better oral health is a commendable goal, but I remain unconvinced mass medication the best solution.
Trusting the government to look after us can mean people drop their guard and lose resolve to avoid dentally destructive diets. Despite political promises that adding unknown chemicals to the whole water supply is proven to be safe I err on the side of caution. It is not worth the $35 million price tag.
My preference remains to invest in cleaning up Barambah Creek to give Cherbourg kids a decent water supply. Fix places with third world medical conditions in our own back yard as a priority.
