André Rieu benefit for local ovals

One of many outcomes of the Andre Rieu concerts was that the Lang Park pitch had to be removed. The turf, once lifted was not suitable for re-use, so a new crop is being grown at a top secret location. Instead of wasting the surface they would have made it available to a school with an oval in poor condition or community facility that will be proud to have Lang Park turf.

Sorry, incorrect information ... It was shredded to give back to the North Coast Turf farm.
With three concerts a year, if Lang Park requires new turf each time they could make a significant difference to local schools and community areas.
