Army Action to serve the community

Great news that army heroes from nearby Enoggera barracks have been allowed to help in the storm clean up. Hitting the problem hard from the first possible moment will give encouragement and hope to those who have had their lives turned upside down.
"Robbie the Gentle Giant" from 96 five had excellent access to report from a state school hit hard by the storms. The sense of care and compassion Robbie brought to the interview was good radio.

ABC 612 Breakfast all Day - Storm Heroes demonstrate the goodwill and service that should be making a difference in rural areas, farms, fixing problem bridges and roads as practical training that benefits the community. Sending teams in to encourage and work with SES and emergency response teams on real projects in our own back yard are important.
During the 74 floods I recall a group of soldiers who really did not want to be in the mud and muck helping, not wanting to get their gear dirty, but times have changed.
