Wecker Road lane closed till December - You've got to be Kidding

Councillor Krista Adams, (Wishart) has advised her community the inconvenience of a lane closure on Wecker Road at Mansfield will continue till December.
Construction of a stone wall began in July and was scheduled to last two weeks.
Six weeks later, hundreds of motorists who have to wait extra cycles of the lights will be thrilled to know it could be Christmas time before they get a fair go.
Bunnings must be full of excitement as customers think twice about accessing the store due to the challenge of entering and exiting.
Councillor Adams advised that creating a safe workplace for the team constructing the pool and constituents means the footpath and lane will need to remain closed till December.
After the wall was completed Council needed to dig under to lay a water pipe.
There must be more to the story why the lane needs to be closed considering the impact it has on traffic flow and the dangerous footpath they expect locals to negotiate till Christmas.
I acknowledge that the footpath will be 1.5 metres wider.
I appreciate Krista has experienced the traffic congestion and is seeking to advocate for the community about the lane closure.

A brick wall featuring childrens painting was replaced by a stone wall, the bus shelter moved forward to reduce the footpath and a traffic lane closed from July - December.

A stone wall has replaced a besser block wall but the safety of workers and residents is at risk without a lane being closed on Wecker Road.

With the stone wall completed council dug a big hole under the wall for a water pipe.
Previously, short but heavy storms lead to flooding of the intersection.
