Creek Road - Carindale - Mansfield - Clean up

Some long running concerns about our local area ... placed here for the record.
This update from 1 November 2012 to the Brisbane City Council.

1.       Could you confirm if Council has received messages from me concerning the poor state of Creek Road? ...
2.       Traffic islands on Wecker Road are poorly maintained - weeds are growing through the ugly concrete islands.
3.       Corner of Tones Road and Wecker Road – despite promises that it would be cleaned up – remain in a disgusting condition. The contractor operates a ‘toy’ whipper snipper to play around the edges - without actually solving the problem.  They don’t remove the junk, repair the bollards or advise the council that it needs to be done. (Despite council spending thousands in the area to replace concrete paths.)
4.       I commend the council for the effort made by one of your team at the guard rail on Creek Road, between Palmer Steel and Heat and control entrance.
5.       There is an example of good mulching at Holland Park – I believe it might be Arnold Street – where awkward slopes have been heavily mulched.
6.       I believe council should have, could have, needs to …  mulch the poorly maintained islands on Creek Road from the top side – with a heavy grade mulch from the side of a truck with its flashing lights to improve safety. A silt barrier installed back from the edge of the island would slow down possible movement of the mulch. After spending/wasting  many thousands of dollars on a stone wall the area has not been rehabilitated as promised.
7.       Please arrange for the superfluous signs on Creek Road near the Stanley road intersection to be removed. Council installs visual clutter at busy intersections with out of date notices – which is bad for road safety. I believe they are notices about a black spot project – that did nothing to solve the build up of vehicles trying to turn left into Stanley Road.
8.       Do you know why council refuses to rehabilitate the intersection of Creek and Old Cleveland Road? Surely a few good operators could clean up the guinea grass, remove the rubbish and put conditions in place for revegetation. Trees that will never reach their potential on a one metre wide traffic island should be planted on that intersection. This is a major thoroughfare that has been allowed to look like a junk yard  for too many years.
9.       Can you ask your contractor to maintain koala attracting trees planted on the Creek Road island? Secure the metal stakes which are potentially dangerous, secure the trees to keep them straight, extend and improve the mulching around the trees which will also make it easier for the mowing teams.
10.   Could you ask (tree team) to confirm when the trees around Greenmeadows Road will be attended to?

Thanks
