Scrub Hill Indigenous culture centre Hervey Bay

I really enjoyed a visit to the Scrub Hill Community Farm just outside of Hervey Bay. It is exciting to see the work they have done to turn a former quarry site without a blade of grass into a place of learning and inspiration. The Butchulla people are developing a range of enterprises, a place where young people are given hope for their future. I learnt so much from Laurie, a passionate landscaper, Norman, the manager and Elston, the tour leader. His knowledge, humour and respect for his people was inspiring.
