Thanks Urban Utilities for beginning rehabilitation of Bulimba Creek near a bushcare site I have been working at for a few years. A project to re-line the sewage pipes involved damage to the creek bank.
Nearby, Energex, Urban Utilities and the City Council use a prominent vacant block on Wecker Road as a storage ground for broken concrete, bitumen, rocks, soil.
Each time the grass starts growing one of the utilities uses the land as a transfer point. They scrape a layer of grass, soil and rocks each time they "clean up."
Urban Utilities have now laid topsoil on the rocks.
Residents of the village next door deserve a better outlook than bare rocky dirt. It should be set aside as parkland.
